Distribusion Technologies connects bus operators with travel resellers worldwide

Berlin, 2nd February 2015 – The rapidly growing European intercity bus market presents the travel industry with new challenges in the fields of IT and distribution. Distribusion Technologies ( marks the launch of the world’s first global distribution system developed especially for intercity buses. The company’s goal is to streamline the sale of bus tickets, which will benefit bus operators and travel resellers alike.

Simplifying intercity bus sales
The Berlin-based travel-tech startup connects travel resellers with national and international bus operators, thus simplifying the process of selling bus tickets that are valid across multiple operators. The company enables travel agencies, websites (OTAs) and mobile apps to offer its customers a wide range of bus products through a single integrated technology platform.

Distribusion aims to make possible for buses what has long been standard practice for other modes of transportation: “You can easily book a flight at any travel agency or website around the world. This is not possible for intercity bus tickets,” says Julian Hauck, CEO and co-founder. ”We want to change that and make distribution of bus products as simple and cost-efficient as possible.” In terms of the benefits for retailers, Hauck notes that, “Up until now, travel agencies and OTAs have had to connect to various providers and maintain multiple reservation systems. We are offering a one-stop solution with all intercity bus products from a single source with the highest data quality.” This reduces the retail costs of booking and fulfillment processes, and enables retailers to offer bus tickets for multiple providers.

New technology for a fast-growing market
The company is already collaborating with more than 30 bus operators and provides standardized bus content for dozens of travel websites. This number is expected to double in the coming months. “The rapid growth of the market boosts our own growth strategy,” explains Julian Hauck. “The German market grew by 140% since last year and in the US intercity buses are the fastest-growing means of long distance transport.”

The company draws on many years of experience in the bus market, with the founders having already established one of Germany’s most successful online platforms for buses. “Our experience with retailing bus products has shown that the industry requires a specialized solution for its international distribution” says Hauck.
