Distribusion Partners with KAI to Enable Global Sales of Indonesia Rail Tickets

Berlin, 11 February 2025 – Distribusion has signed an agreement with Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), the largest rail operator in Southeast Asia, to become the first international distributor of KAI’s rail ticket inventory.

This partnership was formalized in October 2024, with the first set of OTAs going live by February 2025, in markets such as Europe, China and Southeast Asia. 

Following this launch, KAI’s tickets will be available to all global travel sellers, including OTAs, TMCs, and travel agencies, enabling seamless access for travellers planning trips to Indonesia.

KAI operates nearly 500 million passenger journeys annually, making it a key player in Indonesia’s transportation network. By integrating with Distribusion’s platform, KAI’s tickets will be accessible to a global network of travel distributors, expanding reach and increasing ticket sales across multiple markets.

The goal of this partnership is to enable hundreds of thousands of ticket sales per year, ensuring broad global access to Indonesia’s rail network. Travel agencies, OTAs, and other partners will now have direct access to KAI’s full inventory, including ancillary services, through Distribusion’s platform.

This launch is a strategic step for Distribusion’s expansion in the APAC region, reinforcing its role as a global rail distribution leader. The partnership also sets a benchmark for other rail operators in the region looking to expand their international sales.
