TravelMatic partners with Distribusion to include Italian bus operators in travel agency system
Berlin/Torino, 26th June 2017 – TravelMatic, the leading Italian travel agency system, signed a deal with Distribusion Technologies, the global aggregator of intercity and airport bus services. That is good news to all Italian bus operators who get the chance to promote their rides to a large network of travel agencies. The rollout is planned for end of July 2017.
Bus operators get access to 4.000 travel agencies as new sales partners
The collaboration makes it easier for bus operators to sell tickets through travel agencies in Italy – and allowing them to reach new customers. All of the 4.000 travel agencies using TravelMatic’s B2B software solutions will be able to book tickets of multiple Italian bus providers, starting with existing partners like Autostradale, Appennino Shuttle and SitBus.
With all processes covered from booking, ticketing, payment to invoicing, bus operators do not need to invest time into managing all travel agency partners. The platform is open to join for any provider and it is planned to grow the coverage constantly.
Distribusion connects bus operators with travel retailers worldwide
Launched in 2015, Distribusion enables intercity and airport bus operators to promote their rides via travel agencies and travel websites worldwide. They value the single gateway to all bus content, while bus operators easily become more visible to new customers in new channels. Currently, Distribusion integrated more than 4 million bus rides from 150+ operators in Europe. Outside of Italy, major carriers like Ouibus in France or National Express in UK count on an ongoing partnership with Distribusion.
Distribusion founder Julian Hauck explains the benefits: “This partnership is a milestone for Italian bus operators to promote their rides to thousands of travelers all across Italy. We are very excited to work with TravelMatic in order to make bus bookings at local travel shops as easy as flight bookings for travelers. We are looking forward to welcome many more bus providers joining the platform in the next months.”
Mimmo Cristofaro, the managing director of TravelMatic adds: “Today, customers expect more than just booking a flight or a hotel, but rather a complete end-to-end travel arrangement. Buses are an affordable and convenient way to travel through Italy, but also to get to or from the airport. Having all bus rides on hand in one system will enable travel agents to combine flight and bus and offer an entire journey to their customers.”
